I want to make note that the buildings at Children's Hospital, due to new additions, have been renamed. The Giraffe Entrance is now the River Entrance and the Room Number is RC 3905. It is the SAME ROOM but numbered differently.
Thank you, Susan P. Picard, LCSW |

I am nolt sure if this is the proper place to post but I am desperate and do not know what to do. I am the grandfather of a 7 year old. He is extremely smart, small for his age, the proper weight for his height, he is extremely competitive and active. He is an only child. He is very normal in all ways except his eating. He was breast fed for about 2 years. He ate pretty much all baby foods but when he got to be about 2 or 3 he just for what ever reason, didn't want to eat most all foods. His pediatrition said his child ate nothing but mac and cheese for a year. Then he said not to worry he will grow out of it. Not so. It has been about 4 years and all that he eats is white milk, whole wheat bread and bagles, OJ, frozen yogurt, vinalla milk shakes from Chic Fil A with no cherry or whipped cream. period. There are not any variations to this. The frozen yogurt, he only puts on M & M's absolutely nothing else. When ever I ask him to try something new he just calmly and politely says no. I have tried to trick him to no avail. He eats candy. loves Hershey's chocolate, Snickers, Twisters and a few other candies. I can not get him to mix any chocolate that he likes with milk or any other item.
We don't push him although we did try nothing but a glass of milk for ten days and he will then eat something. This plan was suggested by his doctor. He went 13 days and we gave in. He also likes some cheeses and some cookies. I believe that the problem lies with the parents and maybe me as well. I don't live in the same house but I see my grandson nerely every day. The mother has a number of problems and the husband is an enabler as I am. The mother doesn't cook or clean up, ever. The dishwasher doesn't work, hasn't for years. They eat on paper plates, only uses the microwave. Who can I talk to or what web site can I go to for help? Thank you. |
