I'm stunned that there are so few Compulsive Overeater type group meetings in or around Seattle areas. This is so sad to me. Where can people find each other for help and support around here on a regular basis!!

Why is there no support in thurston or lewis county? I personally know several people who could use the support, so no one can say that there isn't people down there that don't suffer from these various illnesses.

I am currently searching for an eating disorder specialist in the Tacoma area. I live in Idaho and have received help here, but am returning to school in a week. If someone could refer me to a specialist in the area (preferably someone who accepts insurance), I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Hello!
I run a non-profit high school foreign exchange program. I am writing to you because I have a little bit of a unique situation. We have a female student coming from Germany to Washington State that has a past history of bulimia. While I am sure she will have a wonderful time on her exchange for the school year, I know that many students go through a stressful period of culture shock. I want to make sure she is with a very caring family and I thought maybe living with someone who has had experience dealing with an eating disorder would be the most beneficial for her. I was hoping someone within your group would be interested in hosting her or might know of someone who would. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Hanna Welch WA Field Director YFU-USA www.yfu-usa.org |

Hello All,
I had to leave last night before I got a chance to ask you guys my question. I am doing a research project at school (North Seattle Community College) for my Psychology of Gender class on eating disorders. The project is based on gender and why eating disorders are largely considered a "female disease." My group members and I also hope for our project to provide other students at NSCC with a "real-life" look into the reality of EDs and how they actually affect sufferers and their families. I am looking for people who would be willing to do a brief interview with me that will be videotaped. You would recieve the questions ahead of time and would not have to answer any question that made you uncomfortable. You would also have the choice to have your face obscured in the video, which will be played at the end of the quarter and a Making Learning Visable event at NSCC. If anyone is willing or interested in participating, that would be awsome, but no pressure whatsoever. Let me know. Thanks! -Krista
